Maintaining healthy gums is essential to achieving and maintaining a beautiful, healthy smile. We understand the importance of healthy gums and are dedicated to helping our patients. Discover our essential tips for keeping your gums healthy, happy, and pain-free.
Practice Good Oral Hygiene
First and foremost, it’s essential to practice good oral hygiene. This includes brushing your teeth twice daily for at least two minutes, using a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. It’s also important to floss at least once daily to remove plaque and food particles between your teeth, which can’t be reached by brushing alone.
Receive Regular Checkups
In addition to practicing good oral hygiene, you must visit your dentist or orthodontist for regular checkups and cleanings. During your checkup, we’ll examine your gums for signs of inflammation, bleeding, or other issues that could indicate gum disease. We’ll also check your braces or other orthodontic appliances to ensure they’re working correctly and not causing problems with your gums. During your cleaning, we’ll remove any plaque and tartar buildup and polish your teeth to remove any surface stains.
